Guy Fawkes night in London over the weekend. He was one of the posse trying to blow up the Houses of Parliament along with King James I, his family and cohorts back in 1605. Mr Fawkes was caught with a large quantity of gunpowder while wearing, rather suspiciously, a hat, cloak and riding spurs - he was tagged as a vilian preparing for a quick getaway. Spurs, gotta love ‘em.
A few days before (October 27), fireworks of a different kind across India for Diwali. I was in Delhi for Diwali eight years ago, the crack of gunpowder was like mortar fire.
